Laurie De Camillis
Winter on the Escarpment
February 3 - 27th 2010
In February, Gallery at 129 Ossington is please to exhibit a new series of landscape paintings in oil by Laurie De Camillis titled Winter on the Escarpment. In her newest works De Camillis explores the contemporary contradictions and paradoxes in landscape painting by featuring several large studies of willow trees in the snow near Devil’s Glen, a popular ski resort adjacent to the Niagara Escarpment.
As always her application of paint is fast and loose but does not lack the details required to show a memorable portrait of the land, the sky and the striking yet familiar colors of an Ontario winter.
