"3" Showing: Jan 4 – Feb 25, 2012 Opening Reception: Thursday Jan 5, 7-10pm "3" is a group exhibition featuring three artists exploring themes of light and texture; Meredith Bingham, Emily Schaefer and Rachel Vanderzwet. Individually each painter presents us with a distinct style and application, while together, the group creates an intimate and diverse poetry in the language of abstraction. Meredith Bingham’s work springs from the intersection of the intuitive, the irrational and the accidental. She builds up and breaks down colour and form until it takes on meaning and feels complete. It then stands as a stimulus; as an object of interest in its own right, and not as a representation of anything else. BIO Meredith Bingham currently shows regularly in Toronto, Kelowna and Saskatoon. In the Summer 2009, She also had a solo exhibition at The Robert McLaughlin Gallery in Oshawa, ON. Her work has been featured in January 2008’s House and Home, and the current Condo addition. You can also see her work in films; for exampleCharlie Bartlett with Robert Downey (2007), and Repossession Mambo with Jude Law (2009). Meredith has an honours degree in Visual Arts from the University of Western Ontario. She currently lives and works in Port Perry, Ontario.
