Alea Drain’s work on Japanese washi paper is anything but conventional. With a sewing machine as her drawing medium, strange landscapes and creatures come to life in surprising and playful ways. Clever use of color adds to these mysterious worlds, held within the light boxes she builds to contain them.

Threaded Lightly will be Alea Drain’s first solo show at Gallery 129 Ossington.
